The garden suite is an independent part of La Charmille, our large 200 year old house, set in its own grounds, with gardens and orchard, in a charming riverside village on the River Thouet. You can relax in the heart of the French countryside and explore the lovely Thouet Valley from our comfortable garden-suite. From the garden gate you can follow the "green roads", through woodland or along the riverside and discover the abundant wildlife and flowers of the unspoiled countryside of the Deux Sèvres. Centrally placed for the Loire Valley, Puy du Fou, Futuroscope and the Atlantic coast, the garden suite is the ideal base for walking, cycling, birdwatching or discovering the fascinating history of the surrounding area. We are precisely situated on the new Thouet Cycleway which officially opens in 2008 and which links the Loire to the Marais Poitvin following the lovely River Thouet valley.

Parking within the grounds. Ideal for two persons. Bedroom en-suite (shower, wash-basin, heated towel-rail, separate WC). Living room with comfortable seating, dining area with table and chairs, kitchen-corner equipped with fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, toaster, coffee-maker and well-provided with crockery, cutlery and the usual kitchen utensils, iron and ironing-board. Radio/CD, DVD player and TV for watching DVDs. Own private entrance opening onto its own south-facing garden terrace with garden-table & chairs. Alongside, the spacious loggia has a summer kitchen with full-sized gas cooker, gas barbecue, workspace and outdoor dining furniture with comfortable seating overlooking the garden and fields leading down to the River Thouet. Off-road undercover parking within the property. Bed-linen & towels provided. Central heating. Washing machine. Freshly baked bread is delivered daily to the garden gate by the local bakery.  There is a bar in the village. Supermarkets, shops, cafés, restaurants, banks, pharmacies, petrol stations and garages are all available within 2 miles.
